HOW TWO CHAIRS CAN CHANGE YOUR LIFE
Am I really like that? Yes you are.
Do you want to change who you are? Do you want to change what you do? But don’t know how to.
A great way of seeing what you’re really like, exposing your limiting beliefs and understanding how you can change them is to take PERSPECTIVE.
The way we look at the world through our own eyes is called perception – it’s our view of the world. When we look at the world through the eyes of others, it’s called perspective.
There is no advantage in perception in that it keeps you where you are. When you switch to perspective, you can start to realise advantage and start the process of change.
When you put yourself in someone else’s shoes, when you step outside yourself and see the world through their eyes, then you see the world differently. Then you can start to shift and change your beliefs. When you change your beliefs you change your story, you change your life and you flourish.
WHAT CAN YOU DO?
Imagine two film directors chairs. One has got your name on it and the other has someone else’s name on it.
Pick a topic, for example an area of your life, such as health.
Sit in the chair with your name on it. Think about your health. This is your perception of your health.
Now switch chairs and ask the same questions you asked yourself, but now answer them from the perspective of someone else. This someone else could be your partner, it could be your boss, it could be someone famous you admire.
Add more chairs if you like!
Reflect on what they say and feel the change start to happen.
