UNLOCK YOUR SUPERPOWER – CHANGE YOUR STATE, CHANGE YOUR LIFE
You’ve probably heard the saying: Your state controls your story. If you’re feeling stuck, low, or uncertain, it’s because your state isn’t serving you — and the good news is, you can change it fast.
Research from Harvard University shows that adopting a “Power Posture” — think Wonder Woman or Superman — changes your physiology in powerful ways:
- 20% increase in testosterone (that’s confidence!)
- 25% decrease in cortisol (the stress hormone)
- 33% increase in risk tolerance (more courage to take action)
Your body shapes your mind. Your mind shapes your story. Change your physiology and you’ll change your beliefs and how you show up in the world.
CREATE YOUR CERTAINTY STATE — WORKSHOP
Your goal: Step into a state of total certainty, where your mind shifts to positive, empowering beliefs.
Step 1: Stand up straight. Shoulders back, chest out, head high. Breathe fully and speak with a deep, confident voice.
Step 2: Imagine a string tied to the centre of your chest (your sternum) pulling you up, lifting your body. Feel confidence flow through you. Test it: If you drop your chest, you lose the certainty. Keep practicing!
Step 3: Walk around the room like this for two minutes — chest out, sternum lifted. Do some fist pumps. Visualise victory. If you want, shout your success out loud.
Journal: After this, sit down and write:
- Who am I when I live like this?
- What can I achieve in this state?
Examples: I am unstoppable. I am a champion. I am the best version of myself.
Practice this 3–4 times a day to wire this identity into your body and mind. This certainty state becomes who you are.
A CLIENT STORY: FROM DOUBT TO CERTAINTY
One client came to me struggling with self-doubt and overwhelm. She felt stuck in a cycle of procrastination and negative thinking that was holding her back professionally and personally.
Together, we practiced shifting her state using power postures and the certainty string exercise. Within days, she noticed a real difference — she could feel a confident energy in her body that wasn’t there before.
She said, “It felt like flipping a switch. Suddenly, I wasn’t my usual anxious self — I was calm, sure, and ready to take on challenges.”
This change in her state allowed new beliefs to take root. She started speaking up more at work, setting boundaries with family and taking steps toward goals she’d put off for years. Her story is proof: When you change your state, you change your story — and your results.
