IF NOTHING CHANGES, NOTHING CHANGES

If Nothing Changes, Nothing Changes. Let this sink in for a moment: What you’re not changing, you’re choosing. Read that again. Because it’s powerful. And it’s true.

If something in your life feels off – whether it’s your habits, your job, your mindset, your anxiety – and you’re not actively doing anything to shift it… then deep down, you’re choosing to keep it.

That hit me recently. So, after thinking about it, I did something about it — I went for a run. And let me tell you… it felt good. Not just physically, but mentally too. The truth is, I’d been choosing not to run. I told myself it was because I didn’t want to risk injury and not be able to walk every day — but really, that fear was holding me back. I faced the fear and got on with it. And it reminded me: sometimes the thing we avoid is the exact thing we need to do.

Action creates momentum. And momentum changes lives.

In my coaching practice, there are five things I hear time and time again that people want to change:

  1. “I want to stop drinking alcohol.”
  2. “I’m tired of feeling anxious all the time.”
  3. “I want to lose weight and feel better in my body.”
  4. “I wish I could sleep better.”
  5. “I want to feel like I have a purpose again.”

Can you relate to any of those?

Here’s the thing: Change doesn’t require you to have all the answers. It just starts with one small decision.

Try this today: Write down one thing you’ve been tolerating for far too long. Then ask yourself: What would it look like to change this?

You don’t have to solve it today. You just have to stop pretending it’s not your choice.
