About Nigel Jones

Nigel Jones is a life coach, hypnotherapist, NLP professional and best-selling author specialising in identity change, behavioural transformation and performance under pressure.

Through his coaching company, 9KM BY 9AM, Nigel helps people change the patterns of thinking, behaviour and emotional response that keep them stuck. Combining NLP, hypnotherapy, behavioural coaching and practical

mindset tools, he works directly with the internal strategies that drive behaviour so change becomes natural, sustainable and lasting – rather than something held together by willpower alone.

His work is built on a simple belief: lasting change happens when people change identity, not just behaviour.

Whether working with anxiety, confidence, alcohol, habits, performance or self-belief, the focus is always the same – helping people think differently, regulate emotional state more effectively and become more resourceful under pressure. His approach combines practical coaching experience with NLP training influenced by figures including Tony Robbins and Ali Campbell.

Alongside his coaching work, Nigel spent more than 30 years in the world of sports and image marketing, working across elite sport, sponsorship and performance environments. He now brings that experience into his work as a performance coach for athletes, performers and entertainers, helping clients overcome performance anxiety, build confidence, regulate state under pressure and perform at their best when it matters most.

Nigel is also the author of the best-selling identity change book, Walking Back To Happiness – The Secret to Alcohol-Free Living & Wellbeing. Written from both personal and professional experience, the book has helped thousands of people rethink their relationship with alcohol through a combination of mindset change, behavioural psychology and NLP principles. Embedded throughout the book are a range of NLP methodologies and concepts including timeline work, future visualisation, perceptual positions, neurological levels of change and identity-based transformation.

He is also the creator of the NLP Breakthrough Hour – a fast-paced, high-impact group experience designed to help individuals and teams break through limiting beliefs, shift emotional state instantly and access a more focused, resourceful and confident version of themselves. The session blends live NLP demonstrations, experiential exercises and rapid state-change techniques to create immediate shifts in thinking, behaviour and performance.

Today, Nigel works with clients across the UK and internationally through one-to-one coaching, hypnotherapy, workshops, speaking engagements and corporate mindset training.

Who I Work With

Most of my clients are 40+.

They’ve built careers, families, responsibilities, but something feels off.

We focus on: rewiring limiting beliefs; changing emotional responses; breaking unwanted habits; creating a clear future identity; building consistency without burnout.

Why This Work Matters To Me

I don’t teach theory. I lived it.

The 9KM BY 9AM programme started with a simple decision: walk every morning before breakfast.

That one habit changed everything: giving up alcohol; better physical and mental health; more energy, clarity and purpose.

It led to writing my book, “Walking Back to Happiness”.

This work is about helping others create that same shift in their own way.

Credentials 

I’m fully qualified in: hypnotherapy (Hyp.Dip, GQHP, GHR Registered); NLP (Practitioner, ANLP Member); positive psychology coaching (ICF Accredited); accredited sober coach.

I’m a graduate of the London School of Economics and a Community Champion for Alcohol Change UK.

But clients don’t come to me for certificates. They come for change.
